Quick start

Install in 30 seconds.

    Open the DMG

    Double-click the downloaded file and drag Vidyst into your Applications folder.

  2. 02

    Launch and sign in

    Open Vidyst and sign in with Apple, Google or email in your browser. You'll be sent straight back to the app.

  3. 03

    Grant permissions

    Allow camera, microphone, screen recording and system audio once. macOS remembers them.

  4. 04

    Go live

    Connect YouTube or add an RTMP destination, pick a scene and press Go Live.

Permissions

What Vidyst asks for, and why.

macOS asks before any app can see your camera, hear your mic or capture your screen. Grant these once and you're set.

  • Camera

    To show your face cam and any connected video devices.

  • Microphone

    To capture your voice and audio interfaces.

  • Screen Recording

    To capture displays and windows through ScreenCaptureKit.

  • System Audio

    To include app and game sound in your stream and recordings.

System requirements

  • Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later)
  • macOS 14.2 Sonoma or later
  • 8 GB memory (16 GB recommended for 4K dual canvas)
  • Internet connection for streaming and sign-in
