Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Vidyst collects when you use the Vidyst app for macOS and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: your cameras, screen and audio are processed on your Mac, and we only keep what we need to run your account.

Media stays on your Mac

Capture, compositing, encoding and recording happen locally. We do not receive, store or analyze your video, audio or recordings. When you go live, your stream is sent directly from your Mac to the destinations you choose, such as YouTube or a custom RTMP server, and is then governed by those services' policies.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your name, email address and account identifiers from the sign-in provider you choose (Apple, Google or email). Sign-in happens in your browser; the app never sees your password.
• Platform connections. If you connect YouTube, we store an OAuth refresh token encrypted with AES-GCM, your channel identifier and name. It is used only to create and manage your broadcasts and is never sent to your Mac. Custom RTMP stream keys are stored encrypted.
• Stream metadata. Titles, privacy settings, schedules and status of the streams and destinations you create in the app.
• Billing. If you subscribe, payments are processed by our payment provider. We receive your subscription status and plan, not your full card details.
• Session security. Hashed refresh tokens and sign-in codes, used to keep you signed in and to detect token reuse.

How we use information

• To sign you in and keep your session secure.
• To create, start and end broadcasts on platforms you connect.
• To determine your plan and unlock the features it includes.
• To provide support and send important service messages.

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on trusted providers for authentication, hosting, database storage and payments. They process data on our behalf under contracts that require them to protect it. Platforms you connect, such as YouTube, receive the data needed to run your broadcasts. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and deletion

Expired sign-in codes and tokens are purged automatically. You can disconnect YouTube at any time from the app, which revokes our access at Google and deletes the stored token. To delete your account and associated data, email support@vidyst.com.

This website

This site does not use advertising trackers. Our hosting provider may process standard request logs, such as IP address and user agent, for security and reliability.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
